First Event on Cybersecurity (April 2025)
The first event took place in Zurich on April 2025 and was dedicated to cybersecurity.
Here the key findings of the experts:
- Efficient cooperation between science, economy, society and administration requires roles and processes to be clarified in advance.
- Resilience is not a buzzword, but a structural necessity for Switzerland, especially with regard to supply chains and technological sovereignty.
- Swiss research has a high level of expertise, but the transfer of this expertise into practical applications could be improved.
- There are systemic economic risks due to supplier dependency, as well as a lack of market incentives for improving cybersecurity. Compliance often remains the only lever.
- There is still considerable room for improvement in the sensibilisation of the general public for cyber threats.
- International cooperation, open protocols and public-private partnerships could enhance digital security in Switzerland.
Blind Spots is organized by the ETH Board, Foundation Mercator Schweiz and Economiesuisse:
